Sargas Pharmaceutical Adherence and Compliance international (SPAC) has just launched its website for enrolling members. SPAC will be the first company to provide compliance and adherence service for oncology and other pharmaceutical products. SPAC’ s main focus is patient care. SPAC founder Gitesh Patel feels that the patients when given a prescription are left in a limbo, they are not able to get their drug due to authorization issues, co-pays, lack of follow up and prolonged waiting periods to get on the expensive protocols. Once on the protocols, patients do not have the focus to continue on them due to costs, side effects, lack of transportation and various other reasons. SPAC’s goal is to provide the best care to these patients by using proprietary products under development at SPAC.
Currently patients are given the script on a certain day and asked to see the doctor for follow up in two weeks. When patient shows up for the follow up, he still does not have the prescribed drug and the health system is subjected to undue costs. When the patient actually gets the drug in about 2 to 4 weeks, the education about the drug provided to them when the script was written is all forgotten so if a side effect of the drug occurs, the patient goes in a panic mode.
Members will get a benefit of certain services by being the exclusive members of SPAC. Information provided to the members will be proprietary and confidential for the use of members only. Every member’s information is unique to each one of them and will not be shared with anyone without a mutual consent. Major Pharmaceutical companies are interested in this program. SPAC recruited the best legal team in the nation for filing the patent and for structuring the company.
SPAC plans to start providing basic services to it’s members in this quarter. More services will be added.
